About Julianne
I am a Norwegian-Chinese therapist with clinical experience from Hong Kong and Singapore, where I have aided adults, adolescents, and children in private practice and international schools.
Born and raised in Norway within a Chinese family and having worked across Asia, Europe, and the USA, I bring cultural awareness to my counselling sessions. I appreciate the complexity of cross-cultural relationships and understand that navigating these is an ever-evolving learning journey. I collaborate closely with my clients, seeing them as experts on their own lives.

Detailed professional bio
I currently work as a counsellor in private practice, supporting adults, teens and preteens from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
Prior to this, I was a school counsellor at an international high school in Hong Kong, where I counselled students and worked closely with parents and school staff. I also developed school-wide initiatives, including a peer mentor program and a website for students about mental health.
Before transitioning into counselling, my career was rooted in higher education. I have been a humanities researcher and educator, teaching humanities courses for many years at The University of Hong Kong and serving as a Fulbright Scholar at UC Berkeley and the University of Washington, Seattle.
In addition, I successfully ran my own career coaching business in Hong Kong. Besides providing bespoke, 1-1 career coaching to professionals, I also ran career development workshops for corporates and universities.
